Please know that we are closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak via the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The virus and protocols around it are changing quickly, and we are working to mitigate any impact for our entire community (Residents, Families, Staff and Referrers).
Cases continue to rise and the virus continues to spread in more of our local communities. We have implemented several precautions based on CDC/WHO recommendations and continue to reinforce these with our residents and staff.
Please remember that the best way to prevent the spread of communicable disease is cleanliness and hand washing for at least 20 to 30 seconds. We ask all residents and staff to wash their hands upon entering the office or apartments. We are inspecting each apartment to ensure there are adequate cleaning supplies and encouraging residents to increase cleaning habits by disinfecting all surfaces daily. We encourage residents to maintain fellowship at meetings and support groups, and ask that they avoid handholding and hugging. We have added additional questions to our prescreen process in hopes of identifying increased risk.
Residents and staff who have a fever, symptoms of a respiratory infection, or have been exposed to a person with a coronavirus, the flu or any other communicable illness are assisted in immediately seeing a primary health care provider, and a doctor’s note indicating the diagnosis as well as communicability of the illness and safety of remaining in a community must be provided.
We want to remind everyone that as a safety measure we DO NOT allow hand sanitizer that contains alcohol. We will continue to uphold this standard and will give residents alternative options to sanitize their apartments. Again, this is an evolving situation, and we will be closely monitoring it and providing updates as needed. We are doing everything we can to keep our communities (residents and staff) healthy. Please reach out to any staff members if you have any further questions or concerns.
